Established in 2012, Standing Ovation has been at the forefront of young dancer education. Ms. Autumn, the founder and owner of Standing Ovation, has her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Boston Conservatory of Music and Dance graduating at the top of her class. Established in 2009, we offer dance to ages 2-9. Hip-Hop, Tap-Ballet, Mother Goose, and Tap-Ballet-Jazz
Autumn Hill is a native of California and the owner of Standing Ovation LLC where she began her dance training with tap, jazz, and musical theatre. She began her serious ballet training under Alexi Badrak from Kirov Ballet and Ming Hai Wu of San Francisco Ballet. To further her studies, she was one of eleven students selected to study abroad at Ballet Philippines performing with the professional school there. Upon acceptance to the School of San Jose Cleveland Ballet, she was named the Bess Cartwright Scholar recipient. There she trained in the Bournonville technique under the direction of Lise La Cour former director of the Royal Danish Ballet School. She has attended and been accepted to prestigious summer programs such as ABT, Joffrey Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Houston Ballet where she studied on scholarship and was asked to join HBII at age 16. During her time as a student at Ballet San Jose (formerly San Jose Cleveland Ballet) she joined the company as a trainee, performed with the second company in New York, and was invited to join as an apprentice in 2004 by Artistic Director Dennis Nahat.. After graduating, she was invited to Italy to compete alongside company members of Ballet San Jose and garnered two first place awards in both ballet and character dance. In order to pursue her studies, she decided to study at The Boston Conservatory on scholarship with notable teachers such as Luis Fuente, Adriana Suarez, and Jennifer Scanlon. There she performed soloist roles in an array of pieces including Martha Graham’s Night Journey staged by Yuriko and Antony Tudor’s Dark Elegies staged by Donald Mahler. Upon graduating in 2008 Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in dance, she joined BalletRox in Boston, Ma where she quickly rose to be the youngest female principal in BalletRox history. There she served on the faculty of Boston Ballet’s Centre for Dance Education and BalletRox’s official school where she taught tap, jazz, and ballet. In 2009, Miss Hill was invited by William Starrett to join Columbia City Ballet where she currently performs as a soloist dancer. She serves on the faculty for some of the top schools in South Carolina including the official school for the Columbia City Ballet. During her off season she travels to California to teach master classes in an array of dance styles at numerous schools. She currently is the Director and Owner of Creative Movement and Dance Inc., offering quality dance programs for private schools, day care, and recreational centers throughout South Carolina.
Philip Ingrassia is the Administrator for Standing Ovation LLC. He began his training with clogging, tap, jazz, and eventually ballet under the direction of Dennis Nahat at the San Jose Cleveland Ballet School. He has been accepted to American Ballet Theater Summer Program, Boston Ballet Summer Program, and received a scholarship to The Boston Conservatory. Mr. Ingrassia also received his BFA with a 3.71 GPA graduating Magna Cum Laude and retired as a Principal dancer under the tutelage of Wiliam Starrett. He reprised roles of The Little Prince, Mercutio, Jonathon Harker, The Nutcracker, Peter Pan, and other major roles. Many of which were shared alongside Ms. Autumn.
